This was my first visit to the Cheorwon Hantangang Jusangjeolli-gil.
Cheorwon Hantangang Jusangjeolli-gil (One-way, 3.6 km)
I visited on December 29, 2025.
I started walking at the Deureuni Ticket Office. It is also possible to start from the Sundam Ticket Office. The admission fee is 10,000 won. After paying, I received a 5,000 won Cheorwon Love Gift Certificate.
The trail is not flat, so it is physically demanding. There are many stairs. You will understand once you experience it. This type of path is called a jando, a narrow walkway built along cliffs. People who have difficulty crossing swinging bridges may find this walk challenging.
The distance from the Deureuni Ticket Office to the Sundam Ticket Office is 3.6 kilometers. There are benches along the way where visitors can rest, and staff members were stationed at several points. In my opinion, they seemed to be there for safety monitoring.

With 700 meters remaining to the Sundam Ticket Office, I turned back and walked toward the Deureuni Ticket Office. The reason was simple: I had parked my car near the Deureuni Ticket Office. As a result, I walked a total of 5.8 kilometers.
Because it was the winter season, admission closed at 3:00 p.m., and I arrived back at the Deureuni Ticket Office at around 3:20 p.m.

I was extremely thirsty, so I bought sikhye using the Cheorwon Love Gift Certificate. The change was not given in cash but as two 1,000 won Cheorwon Love Gift Certificates. As for the taste, the sikhye was a bit mild for my preference, but it felt like rain after a long drought.

I was able to walk 5.8 kilometers because it was winter. If it had been summer, I wonder how it would have felt. Personally, I do not want to visit this trail in summer.
Round-Trip Bus and Taxi Between Ticket Offices
If walking round-trip between the Deureuni Ticket Office and the Sundam Ticket Office feels physically demanding, there are transportation options available. On holidays, free shuttle buses operate at each ticket office. On weekdays, you need to take a paid taxi. I have not taken a taxi myself, so I do not know the exact fare.
Parking and Ticket Office Locations
There is a parking lot at each ticket office, and parking is free.
