A Visit to Munsan Library in Paju – Paid Parking in Operation

Munsan Library Visit Overview

I visited the Library once before its opening ceremony. At that time, the parking lot seemed too small compared to the size of the library. Now, the parking lot is operated as a paid facility.

Munsan Library Visit Review

On December 6, 2025, I visited the library.

The parking gate goes up and down, and it also recognizes license plate numbers.

It seems that paid parking has created more available parking spaces.

On November 23, 2025, I visited the library.

Compared to my previous visit on September 3, the color of the grass has changed, and there is now a notice about the upcoming paid parking system. It is scheduled to begin on December 1, 2025.

The first 60 minutes are free, 61 to 80 minutes cost 1,000 won, and every 20 minutes after 80 minutes costs 500 won. The daily maximum fee is 7,000 won. Parking is free on closed days and public holidays.

I briefly looked around inside the library. There is a café on the first floor, and books from the second to the third floor. Please refer to the photo below for the floor guide. I intentionally did not take interior photos. Since the building is spacious and new, I noticed there is plenty of room for new books.

Munsan Library Exterior Review

On September 3, 2025, I visited the exterior of Library.

The library is newly being built. When I first saw it, I thought it was big. Since it is big, it will probably have many books in its collection. People who live nearby and use it must feel happy. The lawn plaza also seems to match well with the library building.

However, as I kept looking at it, two disappointing points caught my attention. First, the parking lot. Compared to the size of the library, the parking space seems insufficient. There probably isn’t an underground parking lot either. It might have been more efficient to create parking spaces instead of the lawn plaza.

Another point is that the exterior of the library building appears to be made of glass. So except for winter, I think the inside will be hot. It seems like they will have to run the air conditioner a lot.

Since the ibrary has not opened yet, I did not look around inside. The opening ceremony is at 4:30 p.m. on September 29. It is not far away. Maybe because it might be hot? I’m not sure why they are holding it in the afternoon.
